How can we open our cultural and artistic activities to the city’s international community? Like any modern-day capital, Copenhagen is home to a large and diverse crowd of international people, working within the cultural and artistic field - from artists and musicians to film workers and festival planners. However, only a few of the city’s cultural venues, institutions and organisers attempt to accommodate the international working force - making it difficult for the international community to reach the same opportunities and creative resources as their Danish colleagues.
In this workshop, we investigate how to create a more inclusive arts and culture industry for the international community living and working in Copenhagen. What structures and obstacles prevent Internationals from taking part in the city’s cultural and artistic scene? How do we work around the language barrier that many non-Danish speakers are facing? What skills and resources can be gained from opening our cultural activities to an international crowd? And how do we foster collaboration, networking and knowledge-sharing within the International community?
