Ceremonica: The Foreigner’s Journey

An Immersive Experience for Those Who Live Between Worlds

You are not from here.

You may never be from here.

Is that okay?

In a world that constantly reminds you that you're an outsider, it's easy to feel perpetually out of place. As a foreigner, you face a constant pressure to adapt, integrate, and prove yourself in a society that may never fully embrace you.

But what if your foreignness wasn’t a limitation?

Welcome to The Foreigner’s Journey, an immersive experience designed for expats who feel caught between worlds—no longer fully rooted in your original culture, yet not fully at home in Denmark.

This isn't your typical expat meet-up. It’s a playful and poetic space to rediscover who you are, to reclaim your story, and to reimagine what it means to live in the in-between.

With 2 sold-out events and more than 50 inspired participants in 2024, we’re ready to open the doors to a new group of brave foreigners.

What to expect:

  • A 3-hour-long guided experience where you are an active participant, co-creating the story together with fellow expats.

  • A group exploration of the phases we all go through once we take the brave step of moving abroad and starting anew.

  • Theatrical storytelling, conversations and sensory activities designed to evoke reflection, connection, and empowerment.

  • A dreamlike atmosphere that transports you away from the outside world, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the journey.

  • Moments of joy, sorrow, light, and darkness as we walk through the ups and downs of the foreigner’s path together.

  • A space to connect with fellow expats who truly understand your experience—no complaints, no comparisons, just companionship.

  • A gathering for introverts and extroverts alike, with no pressure and no spotlight.

To get a better idea, imagine getting inspired by a story told in dim candlelight, pinning a place on a map, or writing a love note - all within a theatrical and fun storytelling frame.

By the end of the journey, you will:

  • Rediscover the unique gifts that come with being a foreigner.

  • Leave with a renewed sense of enchantment and possibility in your life as a "being in between worlds."

  • Make new and meaningful connections with likeminded expats.

Why join?

Because you no longer need to carry that invisible weight of never being enough no matter how hard you work at integrating. Because you’re tired of playing this losing game. You deserve to be seen, heard and celebrated for who you are.

This is your invitation to step into a new way of being—one that honours your roots, celebrates your journey, and embraces your unique foreigner gifts.

By joining this event, you get to become part of our community: The Foreigner's Collective.

Who is this for?

This event is for those of you who have lived the foreigner’s life for at least 1 year and don’t feel fully at home here yet. No matter if you lived here for 1 or 10 years - if you’ve ever felt small, isolated, or under-appreciated as a foreigner, this journey is for you.

This is not for recent arrivals or short-term stays, since the depth of the experience requires a profound engagement with the expat journey.

We welcome introverts and extroverts alike. Come as you are and let us be your guide.
