The Copenhagen label ILK Music invites you to a pre-release listening session of ‘girls choir’ - the debut album by experimental vocalist Sarah Buchner. In the intimate atmosphere of the villa’s winter garden you’ll be able to hear the album in its entirety.

‘girls choir’ is the debut album by the Copenhagen-based experimental vocalist and performer Sarah Buchner. The four-part collage composition – made out of hundreds of different vocal recordings – presents a surrealistic audio play. Started one night while playfully recording small voice samples with the microphone on her laptop, the album turned into a six-month production of recording, cutting, sampling and puzzling together recordings.

This album marks Sarah Buchner's first release as an electro-acoustic composer, building on her strong background as a live performer in improvised music and avantgarde jazz. ‘girls choir’ will be officially released via ILK Music on Friday 20/9-24 both digitally and on CD. The release is supported by Koda Kultur.

The event is hosted by Sarah Buchner and ILK Music and is part of the series ‘baggården’ - an event programme by and for young culture creators. The programme is made possible with support from The City of Copenhagen.
